When you're working with Divi and need some help with writing, you'll find the Divi AI writing assistant integrated right into the text input fields of modules. You'll see the Generate Content with AI button, and clicking it brings up the AI interface.

In the popup, you can select the content type and describe what you want. You can also set context and tone to generate relevant text.

Divi AI also lets you specify keywords you want included in the generated text, which is a nice touch for SEO. Plus, you get granular control over the length of the generated content.

After the text is generated, you have options to rewrite it in different ways, such as rephrasing, lengthening, shortening, simplifying, or paraphrasing. Fixing spelling and grammar is also a standard feature.

Divi AI lets you write in over 26 languages and translate into over 100.

Elementor AI Text Generation

Over in the Elementor editor, using Elementor AI for text generation feels very integrated with the rest of the editor. Like Divi, you can access Elementor AI directly within the text areas. You'll see a small Edit with AI or Write with AI button above the text input field.

Clicking this button opens the AI assistant, where you can tell it what kind of text you need. If you’re unsure what to ask, it offers suggested prompts to get you started.

Elementor AI is quite smart about the context you're working in and suggests relevant text. For example, if you're in a heading widget, it will suggest headline options.

Elementor also has a handy feature where you can provide examples of your company's tone of voice in the Site Settings, and it will try to generate content that sounds like your brand.

Once the AI generates text, you can easily make changes. You get additional options to simplify the language, make it longer or shorter, or fix any spelling and grammar issues. It supports content creation and translation in any language, with 25 popular languages accessible via a dropdown in the editor.

There’s also a prompt library, although the number of prompts is quite limited at the time of writing this article.

Divi AI vs Elementor AI: AI for Image Creation and Editing

Visuals are a huge part of making a website engaging, and both builders are using AI to help you with this. Divi and Elementor offer features that let you generate and even edit images right inside their builders.

Divi AI Image Creation and Editing

When you need to add an image to your design, Divi AI helps you create one on the spot. You’ll find the AI image generator in places where you typically add images, like the image module or when setting background images for sections.

You describe the image you want using a text prompt and an image reference, and Divi AI can create images in various styles. These include realistic photos, digital art, or even anime-inspired graphics. You can also specify the size and aspect ratio to make sure the image fits perfectly into your layout.

Divi AI provides you with four image options, and you can generate more variations or refine the ones you like.

It also includes several advanced image editing features. You get image inpainting, where you use a brush to select areas and tell the AI to change them, add new objects, or fill in empty space. You can also expand the canvas of an image and have Divi AI fill in the new areas.

Another useful feature is image upscaling and enhancing, making them larger and clearer.

Elementor AI Image Creation and Editing

Elementor AI has also added image generation and editing capabilities directly into its editor. Like Divi, you can use Elementor AI to generate custom images right within the editor interface wherever you'd normally add an image.

To create an image, you just describe what you want using a text prompt. Elementor AI also gives you options to guide the AI. You get options like choosing the image type (photographic, background, or digital art), the image style (floral, gradient, or mosaic), and setting the aspect ratio to fit your layout. There's even an 'Enhance prompt' feature to help you improve your image description.

Similar to Divi, Elementor AI provides you with four different versions of the image to choose from.

Besides creating new images, Elementor AI also includes editing features for existing ones. While not as powerful as dedicated photo editors, it's handy for quick fixes.

You can use it to enhance images, adjust their size, remove backgrounds, clean up unwanted objects, or even extend by brushing specific image areas. 

Divi AI vs Elementor AI: AI for Design and Layout

Building the structure of your web pages, arranging sections, and deciding on layouts can often be a time-consuming part of the design process. Both Divi Builder and Elementor have integrated AI to help you generate initial layouts and sections more quickly.

Divi AI for Design and Layout

Apart from text and image generation, Divi AI can even lend a hand in the design process by helping you generate layouts based on text prompts.

One way it does this is through the Generate Section With AI option, which appears when adding a new section. You describe what you need using a text prompt, and Divi AI creates a new section complete with rows, Divi Modules, and even some initial content inside those modules.

These AI-generated sections are also fully editable within the Divi Visual Builder, allowing you to customize them to fit your exact needs.

Divi AI also goes a step further by letting you generate a complete web page based on a text description. You tell it the type of page you want, and it creates the full layout for you.

Elementor AI for Design and Layout

Like Divi, Elementor AI can also help you generate design layouts based on text prompts.

You can describe the kind of layout you want, and the AI will create a suitable structure using Elementor's containers. It offers a few different layout options to choose from and create designs using your global fonts and colors.

It can also create variations of existing sections or even try to replicate layouts from external websites. However, in our testing, results from referencing external sites can be hit or miss.

These AI-generated sections, along with their rows and modules, are fully editable once you add them to your page.

Elementor AI also has what's called an AI Copilot, which is designed to predict and suggest the next wireframe layout based on the sections you've already added and the overall structure of your site.

Divi AI vs Elementor AI: AI for Code Generation

Sometimes, you might want to add custom code to achieve specific customizations in your layouts. Writing this code manually can feel daunting, especially if you’re a beginner. This is where AI starts to lend a helping hand in both Divi and Elementor.

Divi AI for Code Generation

Divi AI offers a coding assistant that helps you add custom CSS, HTML, and JavaScript to your site.

This allows you to fine-tune your design, add animations, text effects, and other unique styling that might not be available through the standard builder options.

You can access Divi AI for code generation via the custom CSS option in the Advanced tab of any module or by adding a Code Module within the Visual Builder.

You can prompt it in plain language what you want to achieve, and it generates code that is fine-tuned on the Divi module codebase. One feature we would have liked to see, but is currently missing, is an AI code explanation. 

Elementor AI for Code Generation

Elementor AI also lets you generate custom CSS and HTML to add unique styling, like animations, special visual effects, or interactive elements such as buttons.

You can access the AI Code Assistant in areas like the HTML widget or the Custom CSS option under the Advanced tab of widgets.

Just like with text and image generation, you describe what kind of code you need using text prompts. Elementor AI also provides a list of ready-to-use prompts to give you ideas.

When generating CSS, Elementor AI automatically includes the specific selector needed, ensuring the code applies correctly to the intended element.

Like Divi, it currently lacks a feature to explain the code it generates.

Beyond Core Features: Full AI Website Creator

While both builders integrate AI into their core offerings for everyday tasks, they also offer some specialized AI tools as separate offerings. These tools have their own focus and can significantly change how you start or manage a website project.

Divi Quick Sites with Divi AI

Divi includes a Quick Sites feature that lets you create a fully functional website in just a few minutes using a simple text prompt.

You describe the kind of website you need, and Divi AI generates a complete site, including multiple pages, Theme Builder templates, global styles, a navigation menu, and even pre-configured WordPress settings.

You can also provide your preferred fonts, logo, and color scheme, and Divi AI uses these to create an on-brand website. 

Elementor AI Site Planner

Elementor takes a different approach with its AI Site Planner. It’s a separate service designed to help you kickstart your web projects in a unique way. Instead of building individual sections, it helps you generate a complete website plan.

You can start with an AI chat or use the AI Notetaker to share information about your business and goals. The AI then generates a website brief, creates a sitemap, and the initial wireframes for key pages.

After the AI generates the wireframe, you can edit the global color and fonts as well as add your own logo.

AI Site Planner is focused on generating the initial wireframe, giving you a solid foundation rather than a fully designed site.

If you're an existing Divi customer, you get a free trial, which includes access to 100 tokens to test the features.

Elementor AI takes a different route with pricing and usage. It uses a credit-based system, meaning every time you use the AI, it consumes a certain number of credits

It is offered as a separate subscription from the main Elementor plugin, with three plans that provide varying amounts of credits:
